What were the short and long term effects of 9/11?

Short Term Effects- Due to the 9/11 attacks, All airlines were shut down because the people of the U.S were worried about airlines being hijacked. Many people wouldn't send there children to school because they were scared that the attacks weren't over. Late night talk shows were cancelled because they felt it wasn't appropriate to do what they normally do because they usually make fun of political issues.

Long Term Effects- After the attacks and still today, airline security is more strict than it was before the attacks so that they could monitor what and who was going on the airplanes. People involved got many disorders such as asthma, post-traumatic stress and many more from how they were affected by the attacks. Many families and friends were affected by the loss of loved ones that were killed in the attacks.

My opinion- I think that 9/11 was a huge impact on the U.S. I changed the way people lived, the way people did things, etc. 9/11 has taught us how to do things different. It also showed how united the U.S. can get.
