Today we continued looking at Mr. Bruns' slide show of pictures. Jack Ruby said that by killing Oswald he was doing Jackie Kennedy a favor. He didn't want her to have to go to court and face Oswald. Ruby died in prison of cancer. We talked about the Warren Report. Earl Warren was the chief justice, head of the Warren Report. The Warren Report concluded that Oswald killed JFK on his own, without conspiracy. Connally thought that JFK had alreay been hit before he was struck, he didn't think he got hit by the same one as JFK. They found no evidence of conspiracy. Gerald Ford was the only vice president, president to never be elected. Nixon resigned and then Nixon's vice president resigned because of tax issues and Nixon chose Ford to take his place.The Grassy Knoll was where they possibly thought ther other assassin was. Even though there were witnesses who saw smoke and heard echoes from there the Warren Report looked passed it. In the late 1970's about 80% of all US citizens beleived in a conspiracy theory or that the government killed JFK. Because of this they decided to start the HSCA. The HSCA was to investigate the assassinatino of JFK again. They believed that there may have been a conspircay theory. The Warren Report and the HSCA both concluded that three shots were fired, first shot missing, second and third hitting JFK and Connally. They concluded that the CIA, Sovirt Union, Cubans were not involved in killing JFK.Nixon had a lot of hate towards the Kennedys because Kennedy beat him in the election. "The three tramps," actually might have been working with Nixon. Nixon was in Dallas the morning JFK was killed but, left that afternoon.
