The labor unions made weekends avalible, child laber laws, overtime, minimum wage, injury protection, right to organize. The big factors to over there workers. Over time they slowly ghot wins in going on strike and not giving up. At first they were not very good at wining because they were against the workers. It took 30 to 40 years to get alot of things that I said before.Chapter 5-3Farmers and the Populos movementIn the late 1800's prices for crops were falling. Farmers had to morgauge on their farms. Good farming land was hard to find. Railroads were charging high prices. Greenbacks were taking out of the circulation. Farmers had to pay back more than what they had to in the first place. Farmers had to pay high prices to get there goods to markets. Lack of competion did not help. Railroads made secret agreements with big companies. Oliver Hudson set up a group for farmers to help with the bad treatement. They fought against the railroads for fair prices. Populism is the movement of the people. It was held in Omaha and was a great big people gathering. The election of the U.S. seneter by popular vote. Canidate won almost 10 percent of wthe popular vote. They ated the imingrants because if they wanted a raise then they could say this imingrant will work for way less. They wanted more money and inflation to have there crops go up. The panic of 1893 was were farmers were scared of there crops going down and banks going into debt.
