Should you drink pre-workout?

A lot of people drink pre-workout before working out. Pre-workout usually has caffeine, beta-alanine, BCAAs, creatine, and carnitine. Most people like to take pre-workout to give them energy to lift heavier, and there are also ingredients in it that are said to increase muscle growth. Pre-workouts help with burning fat. It is better than energy drinks because it has vitimans and it doesn't have all of the sugars and calories that energy drinks have.

On the other hand, pre-workout has a lot of caffeine which may cause jitters, it makes your body retain water, can cause you to have a heart attack, and some of the ingredients can cause digestive issues and headaches. It can also cause dehydration and increase your blood pressure, anxiety, and can make it so you can't sleep at night.

In my opinion I don't think you should take pre-workout with caffeine in it. I don't think having energy is worth all of the problems taking it can cause.

Do you take pre-workout?

If you do what kind do you take and why?

Do you think pre-workout is safe or dangerous?

  • Good topic choice Hope! Your summary is brief and be sure to continue commneting.

  • I personally do not drink pre workout before I workout. Although I do consume energy drinks quite often before I work out. I think it helps me get a boost of energy and become more motivated. I think preworkout can be dangerous if you take insane amounts of it on a regular basis.

  • I do not take pre workout and I do not think that is really does anything. I think that working out naturally is better but pre workout could help you improve and can be good for you in different ways.

  • I don't think that taking pre workout could be very effective. Ive heard it gives you energy but personally I wouldn't take it.  I know that my older brother takes pre workout but if you take too much it can be bad for your health and it can be dangerous.

  • I've never taken pre workout because I always assumed it's better to work out naturally. But, i've also heard per workout is good for you as long as you don't use to much. The only bad effect of pre workout would mabye be crashing eventaully.

  • I think pre-workout definetly works and effects someone's  workout positively, although I think some side affects would be unformfortable to deal with. For exaomple, I heard that taken a certain pre-workout can cause your face to itcha nd make you uncomfortable while working out. In my opinion, that does not sound very fun.

  • I think pre work out is very common before working out, so I do think that should be okay. I personally don't because I like the natural feel of working out.

  • Yes you should drink preworkout it helps with a ;pump and focus to help you have a more intensive workout which can help you have a better day all around and besides thre are companies like bucked up who make non stimulant (caffeine) pre workout.

  • I dont take pre-work but I have thought about it and will probably start to take it sometime next year. I don't think it is that harmful and I think it is perfectaly ok to take it. I know many people who take it and they are fine, and I have not seen any problems with them. As long as it is safe to take I will not have any problems with it.

  • I think pre-workout is safe but only if the right amount is taken. I have taken it before and I don't remeber the name, but I used ut because my sister uses it.
