This week with ISASP we are doing this new block schedule, I was wondering what it would be like to do it all year round, are there any benefits to it? There are many advantages and disadvantages. Some a disadvantage is if you miss a day you miss a lot more than usually class. With the classes being longer you can learn more in one day which is good but is also bad because if you are sick you miss a lot more and is harder to make up the work.
One advantage is that teachers can get more into depth with each subject they are teaching. The extended class periods allow the teacher to have more time to teach, So the kids can get a more in-depth understanding of the topic. It also allows more time for homework to be done in the class, if the teacher finishes class with thirty minutes left the kids can ask questions and finish it in class. While with a normal class they wouldn’t be able to have fun outside of school because they would be doing homework.
Another reason it is good is it allows the teachers to get to know the students better. The teacher will see fewer kids in a day so they can talk to more people, and get to know them on a more personal level. Which makes the class more fun, if the teacher understands how you act. In my opinion, I haven't hated this week of block scheduling, but I haven't liked it either. The classes I don't like as much are to long, so I think that normal 43 min classes are the perfect length of classes. Those are a few of the many advantages and disadvantages of having a blocked schedule

Great topic choice and one that hasn't been done sp +5. Your summary is pretty good as well. Be sure to comment more frequenlty on three different days. All of your comments were done on March 31.
I do not think we should always have block scheduling because it seems as if the days are longer beacuse of how long the peroids are. Personally I did not like the scheduling at all beacuse of how long the week seemed.
I don't reaally like the block scheduling. I feel like the class periods are too long and the day seems to go by a lot slower than a normal day. When we had block scheduling, I was getting sidetracked and not paying attention to the class more towards the end of the period.
I don't think that we should do block scheduling because of how long the classes are. I would much have shorter classes everyday of the week rather than having a class three days a week and two the next. I think that the block schedule also makes the days go a lot slower and more boring.
I think that we should not do block schedule all year. I do not like having to sit in a study hall for one hour and twenty minutes. It also makes classes more boring, and harder to pay attention. Personally, I hated the week we had of block schedule.
I personally prefered school when we had block schedule. I feel like having less classes in a day helped me get my homework done since there were less classes I had work from. I also felt like the school day was not as rushed as it normally feels. I feel like it helps students relax.
I think that I would like block schedule a lot better then the schedule we have now because I would rather have 4 periods a day then 8 periods because it is a lot when we get a lot of homework for each class. I like the block schedule but not the test.
I really like block schedule. It helps me organize better and relax, which is good because I feel like our lives are already busy as it is. I hope that the administration realizes that this is good for students and that it helps us learn better. I wish that we could develop a plan that has a block schedule.
I feel like having a block schedule all year would give more class time to get work done. But it would make focusing in class harder becasue you would be in class for so much longer.
I think that block scheduleing year round would be very benificial to kids becuase it would give them more time in the day to do other activities and give them more time in class periods to work on projects and would be more benifitial for kids to manage their time in class.
