Should Farmers go Organic

When it comes to the debate on whether farmers should go organic or not, there are amazing arguments on both sides. Some people argue that organic farming is better for the environment because it avoids the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. It also promotes biodiversity and reduces soil erosion. On the other hand, some argue that conventional farming methods can produce higher yields, which is important for feeding a growing population. They also point out that organic farming can be more expensive and may not be as efficient regarding resource use. So, it depends on the priorities and values of each farmer and consumer.

Ultimately, the decision to go organic or not is a personal one for farmers. Some may go organic to align with their environmental values and cater to a specific market demand for organic products. Others may opt for conventional farming methods to maximize yields and meet the needs of a larger market. Both approaches have their pros and cons, and it's important to consider the specific context and goals of each farmer.

Personally, I think that farmers should not do organic farming for crops such as corn soybeans, edible black beans, wheat, and other highly-produced crop. For this reason being it is harder to harvest a good crop when the field has more weeds and bugs in it than a good crop. Also, it is hard for the equipment to harvest crops with green wet weeds when trying to combine dry crops. But for fruits and vegetables, I think organic farming would be a safer option because we would not be consuming those chemicals.

  • Excellent job Alex!

  • I think farmers should go organic because all of those harshfull chemicals could be damaging our health, and its better for the environment.

  • We should go organinc its better for the environment and can help people be in good health. but the amount of produce could be lower and being its organic brands could cheat the system. prices would skyrocket if it was all organic.

  • I believe that for farmers to go organic it would greatly impact the pricing and make it more expensive. It also would take longer for the crops to grow and this would decrease the amount and variety of produce. Therefore; I don't think it'd be a good idea for farmers to go organic. It depends on what chemicals are being used for the crops; but for the most part their safe.

  • I think if all farmers went organic the prices would go up a lot. But I also think it would be better for the enviornement. I don't think the chemicals will harm humas otherwise I don't think farmers would be using them. I also think that farming would take longer for organic crops.

  • I think it depends on what they plant because some farmers go into the dairy into the beef industry. They could go organic if they wanted to because it would be good for the environment, but the prices might sky rocket for some products.

  • I think that it would be better for the environment if all farmers went organic, but it just isn't realistic. Farmers wouldn't be able to mass produce things like they can now. Also, it would probably be much more expensive for the farmers sake, so everything would spike in price.

    • I agree the prices would defintly go up because there would be a lot more labor involved.

  • In my opinion this would be a great idea becuase it helps the enviroment protection, and it reduces the chemical use. this would be a way to ptomote healthier ecosystems and potentially offer consumers organic produce options.

    • I think that the chemicals do not pose a threat to they environment because of certain farming practices.
