New Orleans got a new statue. Back in August an unknown artist put up a statue of a famous Pokemon. The famous Pikachu is now a member of the Coliseum Square Park. The statue is mad of fiberglass and sits in the middle of a fountain. The stand that he sits on contains the symbol of a poke-ball and the hashtag Pokemonument. Some people who have seen the statue say that it is sitting right on top of a gym, a place to over take by fighting Pokemon. The officials of the city are deciding whether to take it down or to let it stay there. One official says that, "as long as there's no water flowing through it then its fine with her to stay."
1. What would you do if you were one of the officials? Would you leave it or keep it?
2. Do you believe they should allow it to stay? why or why not?
If i was an official of the city I think that i would let it stay because it isn't doing any harm. No one is getting hurt by it being there and the fountain wasn't even a working fountain so it's not like they ruined the park by putting it there. I believe that they should allow it to stay because it's something for the people to look at while in the park. It is also showing people in New Orleans where one of the Pokemon gyms are. Since they know it is there they wont be wandering in the middle of streets trying to find one. So really since it isn't causing harm it shouldn't be taken down.

I would allow it to stay because its not hurting anyone or causing any trouble. Also people from different areas will want to see it so it can be unique just to the city of New Orleans.
I honestly wouldn't know what to do. I feel pokemon is a dumb game, but I dont know if I should let a dumb thing that isnt harming me be taken down. Lots of people like it, but its a game. Its nothing that brings on historical history. I feel they should take it down just because so many bad outcomes have actually come from this stupid game, like death. Some people rage that they couldn't get other pokemons like other people
I would let it stay because it isn't harming anyone or offensive. And there is no water coming through the fountain so I believe they should allow it to stay.
As long as it is not causing any harm to people around it then I would be perfectly okay with it being there. Now if they were any harmful effects of it being there then it would be removed. Well no because its pretty random for a statue like that to be there but yes because its pretty cool and harmless.
I agree that since it isn't harming anyone that it can stay but as soon as someone is affect harmfully by it then it should go.
I think it was a waste of materials and I would of taken it down. I don't think their is a reason for it to stay it is just a silly game and I think that it is a childish game.
Maybe to the person who made it Pokemon is a iconic staple in their life and they thought to share it with the city. But i understand where you are coming from saying that there really isn't a reason for it being there.
I would keep it because it's kinda cool. I think they should allow it to stay but maybe move it to a different part of the park so that it don't ruin the fountain.
The fountain was already a non-working fountain so it isn't ruining it but i understand that they can probably move it to a different location in the park if they decide to fix the fountain.
