Lebron James Breaking the All Time Scoring Record

If your interested in sports you have most likely heard of Lebron James breaking the scoring record of all time over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem had set the record in 1984 holding the record for nearly 40 years. On February 7th, 2023, Lebron needed 36 points to surpass Kareem's big 38,387 points,  which people were expecting lebron to get since he scored an average of 30.2 PPG (points per game) so far in this season. He finished the game with 38 points becoming the new scoring leader and continuing to break it more as he goes on.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is coLeBron-James-Breaks-NBA-Scoring-Record.jpg?w=1600&h=900&crop=1&profile=RESIZE_400xnsidered to be one of the GOAT'S and maybe the greatest center of all time. Kareem played for the Milwaukee bucks winning 1 championship and with the Los Angeles Lakers winning 5 more championships. Kareem was so good that he even made his own move the "sky hook" which was what lead him to get his points. The sky hook was a high arching shot which was hard for defenders to contest since the shot went away from them, Kareem was also 7'2" which helped him to do his sky hooks. Halfway through In 1979 the NBA added the 3 point line so almost all of his points were in the paint and shooting free throws.

Who is your GOAT for the NBA? and Why?

Do you think anybody will be able to beat the all time scoring record?

  • Good topic choice and your summary is good. It was posted four days late. +5 new topic

  • I don't watch the NBA very much, mainly because unpaid college players are trying to prove themselves to MAYBE make it to the national leagues. My goat is Larry Bird because of his hair 😂. His shooting antics top it off as well. There will always be someone that will be able to beat the record.

    • I agree with you, there will always be someone to beat the record. Also Larry Bird is defintely one of the GOATs.

  • I do not watch NBA or really basketball at all but I don't think that anyone will beat the all time scoring record, at least for a good few years. The last all time scoring record everyone thought that no one would beat it. People think that he is now the GOAT but I think that you also have to look at other things beside the career scoring stats.

    • I agree with you about how the scoring stats doesn't confirm who a GOAT is but it definetly helps.

  • I personally do not watch much NBA because I don't have a lot of time, and if I do watch sports, it is football. So with this, I do not have a favorite NBA player. I think eventually this new record will be broken, but not for a long time. I don't know who has the next most after these two guys, but 38,387 is a lot of points.
