Japan's PM is Going to Visit Pearl Harbor

Prime minister Abe is going to be the first Prime minister in 75 years to visit Pearl Harbor. They believe that the recognition of the occurrences of their nation's past is the first step to create something so thing like that don't happen again. Earlier this year Obama visited Hiroshima. He was the first sitting U.S. president to visit Hiroshima since the end of world war 2.

Do you think this is long over due and why?

What do you think this will change things and why?

Yes this is long over due. They should of done this years ago because what happen during the war was terrible and leaders should of done this a long time ago. I don't know yes it possibly could and I hope it does.

  • Good topic! Be sure to proofread as there are some errors in your summary. I also think your summary is a bit brief and you could have replied a few more times. -5 late

  • I think that while this step could have been made sooner, at least it was made to help our countries. I believe this will change things for the better because it will open more trading opportunities.

  • Yes, he should have visited Pearl Harbor earlier to show respect. It might change hopefully.

  • Yes I think it has been long over due. I feel like this is us like paying respects and making final amends. I think it might make them understand what they did and actually see it but it also goes the same way for us.

  • I think this is long over due. This happened so long ago and to now go and visit it seems a little odd to me. I think it is cool that they are visiting it, I just think it's odd because they are kind of reminding us of us. I don't know, just seems odd to me. I don't know if this will change things because things aren't bad with them.

  • Yes, because we have had a good relationship with Japan for a long time. I'm not sure because things are kind of good with Japan.

  • I believe that it is time to forgive, remember the past mistakes and learn from them. It has been 75 years since the attack and I believe that we have all come so far that they deserve to be forgiven and can start to be trusted again. I believe our leaders should've forgiven each other long ago and at least attempted to make peace. Hopefully these acts and movements of trust and peace will inspire more trust and prosperity for both countries.

    • I agree that we all should just forgive and learn from our mistakes.

  • I think it is long over due, they should have done this a while ago. I think this could change things but I don't know what it will change.

  • This long over due, but still probably a very cool experience. I don't think it will change anything, just maybe some reassurance.
