International Women's Day

International Women's Day takes place on March 8th. It was not an idea until 1910 during a Socailistic women’s conference. During that conference Clara Zetki a German communist activist she proposed that there will be a set day for women everywhere.

They stand up lifting women and just over all supporting each other. They are trying to make the world equal for men and women alike. They "Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality."

I think this is a good thing to equal women and men but not to go over the top with it. So just to make the rights equal.

Do you think it is a good idea?

and have you seen or have experience inequality?

  • I like your topic a lot but your summary is quite brief and you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points. -20 two days late

  • I think that equality is definitely a good idea And I also believe that numbers dont lie. Nobody who is serious is actually trying to flip gender inequality. They're just trying to achive equality. I have not expirienced inequality on my own. I, after all, am a high schooler boy.

  • I think National Womens Day is a good thing. It puts respect on us women espically for those years where they treated men and women very differently. It's a good reminded that we all should be treated the same.

  • I think that nation womens day is a good thing because I makes me think that women didn't have the right to do a lot of things back then which is terrible and they now have the right to do as much as men which is a good thing. I haven't experienced inequality I have always gave women respect.

  • I like the idea of National Women's day. It reminds people that women should be celebrated just as much as men, and also that at one point this is not something that would have even been considered because of the unfair treatment and unequal rights of women in society.

  • I think it is a good idea just to remind society that girls and guys, at one point, were not treated equal in the slightest. Although there has been a big change since then, I feel as if sometimes we're grouped as "girly women" who can't do everything that a guy could.

  • I think its a great Idea, and I really like the words that they said... I really haven't experienced inequality having to to with gender, but I do kind of remember that some teachers would ask students to help move chairs and desks around and when a girl would offer help, the teacher would make a somewhat exist comment.
