History of the Olympics in Nazi Germany

The Olympics were given to Germany before Hitler came to power in 1936. Years before in the 1920 Olympics, Germany got disinvited to the Olympics, Germany got blamed for starting the war. Some of the French officials banned German athletes from the 1920 and 1924 Olympic games. Jewish and Catholic groups told the committee to boycott the Olympic games but was ignored. Also the Berlin olymipic games allowed to "Amid a Nazi regime" its intent to show Hitler superiority.

After the Olympics Germany had won 101 in total, 38 of them were gold medals and the United States had placed second in the games with 57 total medals.

When the Nazi party won the election, they decided to build a Olympic stadium shortly after. Later in 1994 the German government started the redevelopment of the stadium.

Jesse Owens was a runner for the United States, He was a African American male. He got four gold medals in the German Olympic games. He ran for Michigan state university in the big ten. Hes mostly known for the 36 Olympic games

Questions. Would you attend the Olympic games

Do you think it should've been boycotted or canceled

I would like to attend an Olympic games specifically the summer Olympics especially with the new addition of flag football. However if I went to the winter ones I would go to the skiing part of it I think its cool to see all the tricks they can do.

The summer Olympics is fun and enjoying the moment and being apart of history experiencing it would be the best part of the Olympics and in germany would be nice

I would still like to attend the Olympic games, becuase this is a very historic set of games, it is really something to watch. Watching america, and numerous other countries fight our how good a countrys athletes are at these games. I think that the games could have gotten postponed.

Having the chance to watch the Olympics especially. the games shouldve been postponed because of the area and the germans getting the chance to promote hitler and his campaign

I would go to the Olympic games to see all the best athletes compete in what the practice for and seeing the best do what they practice. I don't think that it should ever be canceled because sometimes I wouldn't want to sit around and watch people run but If they were in the Olympics then I might want to watch.

I would agree becuase going to the Olympics is on the bucket list and would be fun to be part of history. watching one of the best runners and atheltes would be nice to experience.

If I was ever given the opportunity, of course I would go, I would love to see all the athletes from different places and with different sports each. I don't think it should have been boycotted, it should be fair.

I would go to the Olympics if I ever got the chance, it would be a very cool experience and I would love to see all the athletes from around the world compete in different sports. I think that it should have been boycotted but at the same time, I agree with disinviting them.

I would attend the Olympic games, but only if I had lots of money to go, but I dont think its something I would do, but i dont think it should  be boycotted because its a thing our country, and other country get to compete and see who better. But I think it would be cool to go to one one day.

I would definetly attend the Olympic games, it would be so cool. Going to the olypics is probably on my wish lists of things to do in my lifetime. I don't think the olympics should have been boycotted becuase it is important to keep some normalacy and peace even during war.
