History of subway

Subways journey began in 1965 when Fred DeLuca got a $1000 loan from a family friend Dr.Peter.Buck, opened "Pete's Super Submarnies" in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The overall goal of this buisness was to help fund DeLucas's college education through selling sandwhiches. They realized the potebtial of their buisness and set a goal to open 32 stores within 10 years. By 1974 he had 16 submarine sandwhich shops in operation, these shops began to rapidly grow. Shortly after this they adopted the new name "Subway." Their main goal of expanding this brand was to offer a fresher and healthier alternative to the exsisiting fast-food options. Their cusomizable sandwhiches made a big bang because that was unheard of at the time. This made many customers happy as they could make a sandwhich to their liking.

Today, Subway is one of the largest fast-food chains worldwide, with locations in over 100 countries. They've mantained their commitment to fresh ingredients and customer choice. Over the years, Subway has faced challenges and competition, but it has remained a staple in the fast-food industry, known for it's submarine sandwhiches and even salads. Lately they've even uped their game by getting mobile ordering. This help's them stay ahead of their competition.  Although a lot of people complain about Subways prices now, it seems as if everyone keeps going back because of how good it is.

Do you think subway is overpriced?

What do you get when you go to subway?

Did you know Subway had a different name at first?

  •  I didn't know it had another name before. I think it was good that they changed it because the name was long, not that long but yes.  And No I don't think that subway is overpriced. When I go to subway I always get a toasted 6 foot white bread with american cheese, turkey, lettuce, tomato, black olives, green peppers, mayo and mustard. I think it was good that they changed it because the name was long, not that long but yes.

  • No, I do not think subway is overpriced. I think it has fair prices. When I go to subway I usually get a toasted 6 foot with american cheese, turkey, lettuce, spinach, onion, green peppers, mayo and mustard. It is buss. I did not know subway had a different name, it is very interesting. I could not imagine myself saying "Guys, let's go to Pete's Super Submarines"

    • I also think it would be weird to call Subway a different name. But in my opinion I think it's a little bit overpriced.

  • Bump
