Conservation in the Hong Kong area

Conservation is a vital issue in the Hong Kong area, given the region's unique ecological and cultural diversity. The government has implemented various measures to preserve the city's natural resources and heritage sites, such as establishing protected areas and promoting sustainable development practices. However, environmental groups and concerned citizens continue to advocate for greater conservation efforts, particularly in light of the ongoing threats posed by urbanization, pollution, and climate change. They have lost 70 percent of their wildlife population since the 70s.

Some of the key areas of focus for conservation in Hong Kong include the protection of wetlands and other habitats for endangered species, the preservation of historic buildings and cultural landmarks, and the promotion of eco-friendly tourism and recreation activities. Hong Kong has lost 78 hectares of protected wetlands in the last 2 years due to the government annouccing a house development plan.  Overall, there is a growing recognition of the importance of conservation in Hong Kong, and stakeholders are working together to ensure that the region's unique natural and cultural assets are protected for generations to come.

My personal opinion I think the government should be able just to destroy protected territories. They are killing wildlife and nature they make this world beautiful. What are they doing to stop them from destroying protected land and wildlife?

  • Fine topic choice but you really need to simplify the words within your summary. Make it your own. Also be sure to add more question. This was also posted a week late and you only replied to one comment.

  • I think that they should put an end to this because it's not right they're ruining the land of wildlife and killing many animals which in the end have a significant amount of animals gone and or possibly extinct.  This land is protected I believe that the government has no right in destroying the land.

  • I think that if they are protected, the government should leave them like this, they all have species that have a function, nature is very important for us to live, what will become of us if we put an end to all that?

  • While the name is Hong Hong people should have just keeped it just how it was and no one shouldnt have destroyed it while it was still here and when some people did like it. It should still be here for people to still like it.

  • I believe that the government should not be able to destroy these protected territories. This is because it's hurting wildlife and nature which is extremely crucial in the world. Obviously if they are protected they should stay protected and not get destroyed for many reasons.

  • I dont think that the government should be able to destroy the protected territories because we depend on the wildlife to keep us alive. I think that if they are aldready protected, then the government shouldn't be able to do anything but help it to thrive.

  • I think the government should not be able to destroy these protected areas as they are harming wildlife and killing off many animals and things in nature. They are protected for a reason, and I believe it should stay that wayt for multiple reasons.

    • I agree because some people go for hikes in nature to see the beauty of the earth and the wildlife. Its hard for photographers and naturists to study nature and wild life if they destroy it all
