On April 11th in Kansas City, 7 chimpanzees were on the run for more then an hour. One of the chimpanzees was able to break off a six-foot tree limb. Then used it as a ladder to climb to the top of them enclosed wall. The chimpanzees never left the zoo ground. They called a "code red" due to 7 monkeys running around.
This is a really cool story! It would be so cool to have monkeys run around but it would scary to think that they could get out. I even saw it on the news. I think that it shouldn't be that easy for an animal to get out. What if people were around when they got out?
What would you do if you were at the zoo when this happened? Would you bring you kids back there knowing that they had escaped? How would you react if you came face to face with a chimpanzee?

i would shut down the zoo and catch them and then reopen the zoo i would probaly not bring my kids back because that would be wired and they can die
Monkeys and Chimps are one of the smartest animals out there. It doesn't surprise me that they figured that out. That's why the zoo's around here all the monkey enclosures are full closed with a ceiling net or cement. Monkeys are very dangerous to some people. If people or kids were around the kids would love to chase after them and try to pet them and then get bit.
I think that sounds awesome!! I don't know if I would bring my kids around the zoo knowing that something like that can happen and that they could harm the kids. I really don't know what I would do if I came in contact with a chimpanzee but I think I would try to touch it.
I have no idea what to do. I would be scared of the loose monkeys. I dont know if I would go back.
This actually made me laugh because I wish I would have got to see the monkeys get out! I honestly think people underestimate the intelligence of the apes!
I think that the zoo should do more to control the animals and make it harder for them to get out. If they got out when I was there I would probably laugh and watch the zoo workers try and catch him.
I think that it is funny too! Like how cool would it be to be walking around the zoo with some monkeys?
I don't know what I would do I was at the zoo when this happened. I would think it would be very cool but scary. I would be laughing and screaming but it would be cool! This is a crazy story!
