The sinquefield cup a chess championship it is one of the biggest chest tournaments. This is happening in St. Louis at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center. The tournament consists of six of the top 9 players in the world. They compete for a huge prize of 100,000 dollars. They will being playing every other player twice. To see who is the winner of the big prize money.

I honestly didn't know that they even had a chess championship but i don't think that it is too much money because all the other championship things.

I don't think that it is to much money. Chess is a long going game that takes some talent. Its not even that much money compared to what football or basketball players get.
Well, basketball and football players get high payments of money. I'm not saying that chess is a sport, but some people can be pretty intense about things and could get upset if they didn't get a decent amount of money. At least give them some money so they don't get upset or anything.
I believe that a chess tournament, and its pot, is up to whether or not it is public or private. If it was public then yes, that is to much. But private is another thing, there are many people willing to throw money on the table to get some better competition. Because there are some people who take chess to the next level. Such as games that take days, or even games with people from around the world. Its more or less a rich game. A game that takes skill and practice.
I feel like this is a very good amount they are getting paid because this game involves lots of planning and strategy because just like the other sports you have to have the right people playing in the right places
I think that they are under paid in things like these.... They should be getting more money for this. I have played chess before and its hard to learn. Its take a lot of time and dedication to actually learn it.
But where would they get the money from.
