I also took this picture on the way in to Ruby Falls. On the right, you can see where Leo Lambert first crawled on his way into where the waterfall is. There was only a crawlspace at the time he discovered the waterfall and they made it tall enough to walk many years later. The first thing that Leo's crew did was dig an elevator shaft 260 ft deep. Then, they hit a spot where they could feel a breeze, so they knew there was an opening. They followed the crawlspace to the middle of the mountain (over 1000 ft deep) and found the waterfall.
