You may have heard about a man named tank man. But that's not really his name, till today the Chinese have covered up his real name. Maybe one day we can find out the truth of this intriguing mystery. The tank man is an unidentified Chinese man who on June 5, 1989, faced down a column of People's Liberation Army (PLA) tanks on Chang'an Avenue in Beijing who we still don't know what happened after. So what is the truth behind this story?
What was the tank man protesting? He was protesting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) violent crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters. On June 5, 1989 the Chinese man (tank man) approached the tank with his “groceries” in his hand and stood in front of the tank. He later climbed on top of the tank and he got off later. He returned to the ground in front of the tank and some group came and got him and moved him away from the tank.
What happened after he got taken away from the tank? It is believed that after he got taken away from the tank the government killed him and covered up his identity. Another theory is that he ran off after he protested and was never seen again to keep him safe. There are many theories but these are the main two that people believe. Personally I think that these two theories are the most believable. The theory that I believe in is that he got killed and his identity was covered by the Chinese government after his protest..
What do you think happened to the Tank Man?
Why do you think the Tank Man blocked the path of the tanks?

Good topic choice and well done overall Abbie! I do think you could have explained more about why people were protesting in China. I also think a picture or a link to the video of him doing this would have really added to this topic. Be sure to check back later Thursday as well for more comments.
I think the government took him after he protested and killed him. I think he used the tank to block the path was because he was only trying to defend his rights, whcih once the government killed him they covered up his identity.
i thing he was protecting his rights as a chineses man and he must be dead because there would be some sort of police document or mugshot of him. or someone in prison could have seen him but even death is werid without a trace.
Why do you think the Tank Man blocked the path of the tanks? I feel like he was tring to protect the chinesses rights that had been taken away from them I think he was killed if he was in jail there would be some sort of trace of him but since there is not i feel that he got killed
Why do you think the Tank Man blocked the path of the tanks? I think he wanted to protest the chinese rights that were taken away. He most likely was killed by the government and then they stopped his identity from being leaked, so that they wouldn't get looked at badly.
What do you think happened to the Tank Man? I think he was killed as well, and that the chinese were covering it up.
Why do you think the Tank Man blocked the path of the tanks? I think he blocked the paths so that he could get up onto the tank and kill whoever was inside.
2.) He did not agree with the fighting and the "all-powerful" communist government. That is just my opinion, but I think what he was doing is right and brave, especially standing up to a communist government.
I think that the tank man was probally killed by the government and covered up so it would not be a big deal. I feel there is no way they would help him after doing this act. Maybe he was trying to warn them of something or was mentally ill if he was so insistant of blocking their path.
I think that what happend to the tank man is that he could of went into hiding or possibly faced sever consequences for his actions. I think it was very strange of what tank man did and why he did it? I think he could of blocked the paths to protest/ stand up agianst the goverment to do what he though was right.
Do you think that people who took them away were his friends or the government? When he was protesting he was carried away from the tank, was his friends helping him out and leading him to a safe place for hiding away from the Chinese. Or do you think that it was the government taking him away? I agree with your statement because it is very reasonable.
