The Syrian Civil War
A civil war is breaking out in Syria, a huge conflict between the US and Russia, including Iran and Saudi Arabia. This civil war was mainly caused by economic inequality, due to a huge gap between the rich and the poor, which caused anger and frustration amongst the people. From March 2011 to January 2024 there were 231,108 civilian deaths and 14 million displaced.
In March 2011, people had a huge gap in their relationship with their ruler, Bashar al-Assad, which led to massive protests and pro-democracy rallies in Syria. It got so bad, that armed rebel groups started to form throughout Syria, which led to the beginning of the Syrian Insurgency. These rebel forces were receiving equipment and arms from NATO and Gulf Cooperation Council states, to fight/hold off Iran and Russia's military forces, which only further escalated the situation.
Overall, I think we need to put an end to the fighting, and instead figure out how to improve the economic inequality, so we can better the living of Syrian civilians. Whether we can fix the problem by potentially assigning a new leader or developing a system to even out the difference between the rich and the poor.
1.) How do you think we can combat this issue in Syria?
2.) Do you think we further escalated the situation?
3.) Could this civil war lead to bigger wars/problems?

1.) How do you think we can combat this issue in Syria? I don't think we should get involved in the civil war. I think that Syria can solve it themselves since it is their problem and it is in their country. I think that the U.S. should focus on what is happening in our country.
How do I think we can combat this issue in Syria? We can negotiate with the new leaders of Syria and work out better deals than if we still had the dictator that was overthrown. I hope this new government of rebels can make things better for the country of Syria and also the people who live there. It could lead to bigger problems down the line but right now this seems like the step in the right direction
How do you think we can combat this issue in Syria? I think have a meeting with the leaders of these countries would help somewhat.
Do you think we further escalated the situation? I don't think we did, I think we did what was right and supplied them with what they needed.
Could this civil war lead to bigger wars/problems? Like any other war it can become huge with one instance, getting other countries involved would mean more deaths and people killed.
I agree that if we did not supply these groups, they could have problems and ultimately fall as a nation. I think meeting with the leaders is a great idea because we can discuss solutions to improve the situation. You're right; one war or problem could lead to more problems and more countries getting involved.
How do you think we can combat this issue in Syria? I don't believe it is in the United States' interests to involve themselves in the war. Could this civil war lead to bigger wars/problems? I think it could be a big war if we don't stop it right now.
I agree, George Washington stated that America is to not get involved in any European wars and politics. This does not only refer to Europe but any problems, unless extremely necessary.

I think that all wars can develop into bigger wars.

I think that this civil war could easily lead to a bigger war so we need to be careful with what we're doing and what's going on so it doesn't escalate. They should stop fighting and find a solution to the economic problems.
