Earlier last month was supposed to be a fun camping trip, later to be a crime scene. Dustin - a 35 year old man - set up camp on thursday, october 10 in the moose creek area, about 35 miles soouth of Bozeman. He was planning to spend the weekend there with his girlfriend, but then his girfriend found him lying dead at the campsite. At first, when his girlfriend saw this, she thaught it could have been a bear attack that caused this because of how bad the wounds were, but later autopsys say otherwise. The man was murdered. The killer removed all of the items from the campsite that he thaught could tie him to the murder. One thing that the killer miseed is a beer can that he had previously drank from. This man, through DNA testing of the saliva on the can, was later known to be recognized as a 41 year old man named Daren Abbey.
Daren admitted to commiting the crime, and has four other arrests for DUI, raising his offense to the felony level. The ivestigation is continuing for what his motives were, if any.

I think that this is a crazy story and more people should be knowing about this story . One his girlfriend thought his murder was actually a bear attack. Just it is a good thing that they managed to find Daren after the crime happened.
I belive that this case is absolutely crazy and tragic, the man did nothing to the killler but yet he commited the crime for no reason.
I think that it's ablsolutely crazy that Dustin's girlfriend mistook his murder for a bear attack. That must be such a terrible way to die, when your alone and looking forward to something like spending time with someone you love. I can only wonder why Daren did it.
I feel as if I am shocked at the case as a whole. I haven't heard about this case until this post. I mean I wouldn't blame them to say it was the bear, the fact that it was initially thought to be a bear attack but it wasn't. I don't know why Daren even wanted to kill, it just seems weird to me. Overall I am glad that they managed to find Daren because of the crime committed.
I too am shocked at why someone would do thid at all, and also am happy to see that Daren was captured and has his next hearing november 15th.
I feel like that was a really wicked thing, killing an innocent poor man. I really want to know why he did this truly but he should be locked up for his crimes because he never had a reason to commit this crime so he should be locked up for what he did.
I don't understand why Daren Abbey would even want to kill someone so innocent and not hurting anyone. I have a few questions if I could ask him. Why would you want to kill him? How much did you have to drink that night. Did you have something against Dustin? Where did his girlfriend go? Was this planned?
The reason for the killing is unknown, and there was no connections between the two men, and I do not know if this killing was pre-meditated or not.
I can't believe that they could figure out who the murderer was in this case. Usually in many other cases they can't figure out who commited the murder. I am wondering why Daren killed Dustin and how he knew that he was going to be at the campsite.
The article I got the info from said that Daren was also wanting to go camping, and there was Dustin.
