People in India come together no matter what is going on in the world to celebrate last Thursday and Friday(1st and 2nd). They sing, dance, and throw colorful powder and water at friends, family, and complete strangers in the center of towns. The people of India are celebrating the begining of spring with Holi.
"Witness the beauty of the great cupid festival which excites curiosity as the townsfolk are dancing at the touch of brownish water thrown ... Everything is colored yellowish red and rendered dusty by the heaps of scented powder blown all over," wrote Harsh and Indian emperor. Although this is an old hindu custom there are many people that are not hindos but still are involved in this. Many officals are now saying that even though the word is divided the people of India are coming together for 2 days a year and celebrate a new begining.

Would you participate in Holi even though it could cause temporaty problems?
I would deffinitly be in this, you only get one change a year to go this and if that means that I get a big of chalk in my eyes then I guess I have chalk in my eyes because I would do this in a heart beat. I would try too be a bit careful because if I breathed it in I would cough but in the moment I dont think I would be that worried about it.
Why do you think that we cant have anything big like this in the United States?
I think that right now the United States needs something like this, it brings the people of India together while were here eating tide pods. We really need something to help us however I think that it will have to wait until next years holi because if we were to go this we would have to become together in one way or another and I dont think that we can stop fighting for even 1 day of holi in order to celebrate life.

I think that in the united states right not we cant have anything like this because the police would have to be on guard as this could be a opportunity to commit many crimes and could cause a lot of people to not approve of this even in the first place expecially in light of the recent events that have been taking place.
I think that i would participate in this because it would be fun to try and i think that the lasting effect and happines it could bring would be well worth it in the long run, i also think that it would be fun becasue it is differnent and it seems like a lot of fun.
I think it would be really cool to participate in, and it is like a one in a life time chance for me. I think having a holiday like this would be really cool, but I don't know how it would work out in the U.S.
I agree that this would be great iff we could have this, fun for a lot of people, however the legistics of it are a bit shakey for me and so it would deffinitly have to be the gvernment that is giving this the OK.
Of course I would like to be there, it is good to get together with people and enjoy it because it is only one time each year and to celebrate that summer is becoming more and more closer, which excites me a lot. I have no idea why the United States can not have a party like that, but I think it's against the rules
Given a chance there'd be no way i wouldn't join this sounds extremely fun and something i'd be completely interested in joining in on. In the U.S. there's so much negativity and divide between everyone i'd be a tough challenge to get everyone involved in.
We definitely need a holiday like this where everyone can unite and just enjoy the day together. I feel like too much negativity is a bad thing and this could decrease some of that.
I Think that should be a super fun thing to do it it would only be once a year so it wouldn’t be that bad and I think if I got chalk in my I wouldn’t really worry about it because it would only be temporary. I think the US should have something like this I mean the only reason we probably are is because everybody’s eating tide pods and things like that that are supposed to be eaten so they don’t wanna have something like thia going on.
I would absolutely participate in this becuase it would be cool to and its very colorful just to see. I wouldn't really cared if it caused temporaty promblems because to me it would be worth it. I think the reason why we can't have something like this is because we are always fighting over the littlest of thing and really can't get along with each other. Even though we could really use something to bring us together.
