On Saturday in Mogadishu Somalia, the capital of Somalia, experienced a twin truck bombing. The trucks were in a busy intersection packed with cars and pedestrians. There have been over 200 casualties and even more injured and the toll is expected to rise. Officials say that, "the explosions on Saturday [were] one of the deadliest attacks to hit the capital." President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has declared three days of mourning and is calling for donations of money and blood to help the victims that were affected by the attack. Just 2 days before the attack the head of United States Africa Command met with the Somalian president to discuss the country's' defensive efforts against the Shabab, (a group allied with Al Qaeda). There has not been an immediate claim for this attack yet.
What would you do if you saw the explosion or were close to it when it happened?
Do you think this was an act of terrorism?

If i was near an explosion it would scare the poop out of me. I would run for my life cause you dont know why it happened. But I truly think it was an act of terrorist cause things dont just blow up on accident.
If I was near the explosion or if i saw or heard it happen you best believe that i am running the other direction as fast as humanly possible. I think that yeah this was probably an act of terrorism. things like this just dont happen for no reason.
1. I would run for my life because you can never be too careful.
2.I really think any type of bombing is an act of terrorism.
I feel like it was an act of terrorism. There is no way that something like this just happens out of the blue. There needs to be further investigation no doubt, but if they treat it like a terrorist attack then they would be better prepared for another attack. Things like this are happening all over the globe so it seems reasonable to assume it was an act of terrorism.
Your questions could be stronger and you could also reply more to student comments. You also should include your personal thoughts within your summary.
I would be afraid for my life and for the lives of others around me. If people are being terrorized, it should always be classified as terrorism.
I would take cover as fast as I could and try to get out of the area and stay low as possible to try to avoid getting blown up. I could be and it probably was but I would have to look more into it before I would go that far as to say it was that.
If I was close to the attack I would try and help the people that were hurt because I would want someone to do the same for me. I think that it may have been an act of terrorism but then again nobody can really know for sure.
If I was there I would run and try to help others while running away and then after I got away I would ask the others if they are okay or if there is anyone in there like their family or something and then after trying to take care of that I'd call my family to tell them I'm okay and just explain what happened.
1. If I was there, first I would make sure my family was well and then I help in whatever I could, donating money, clothes or blood.
2. I'm not sure, but if it were an act of terrorism I would not be surprised because these days in the world are being horrible.m
