In high school many students are involved in sports, activities, or clubs. Some students prefer to have a study hall or another class over physical education. The first teaching of physical education was in 1825 by a German named Charles Beck in Massachusetts. The big question is; Should students be required to take PE? There are many pros and cons of being required to take PE as a high school student.
Firstly, the pros. In highschool many students are very busy with work and school work. Sometimes this causes them to not get physical activity every day. Requiring PE would help those students move their bodies throughout the day. Another pro would be relieving stress. During the day all of the students' classes are just learning and homework, PE would let the students forget about the stress of homework and move their bodies. Studies have shown that physical education can improve academic behavior, enhanced concentration, and improved class behavior.
On the other hand, many students do not prefer to be required to take PE. Some students want to participate in physical activity less than others. As they would rather spend their time on something they enjoy. It takes students out of a class that they might have more interest in. Students may want to use the hour for college classes or trade school classes.
I feel highschool students should be required to take PE. When students are required to take PE it gets them to move their bodies. I believe that will help them relieve some stress, hopefully causing them to do better in classes. Oftentimes students would like to work out at home or at the gym but they get busy with work or school and don’t get around to doing it as often as they’d like.

I believe that PE should only be required if a student isn't attending any sports. PE is a very important thing overall because it allows students to remain healthy while sitting for hours on end everyday. PE helps students maintain physical exercise and allows students to form friendships and socialize. I think it should be 50/50; it should switch from the teacher being able to choose and the student.
I agree. I think that it really can help you make friends and socialize with people because you are working in teams.
I think that PE should be required if you aren't in any sports that year because it still gives you the exercise. But, students should still get the choice to be in it even if they do play a sport. It think the games and activites we play should be picked my the students in a majority vote. The teacher should pick a few games and then we pick.

I think PE is something fun to do. Its healthy to get exersise during the school day. You also get to go outside wich is fun. I think it should be a choice and not required.

I think students should only have to take P.E. if they are not in one sport for the whole duration of the sport. I think that one sport is enough to keep a person moving enough. I think that P.E. as one hour of the day holds your class schedule up so that you can't take another class.

I think hughschool students should take PE because it gets them moving and they don't have to worry about school work for a whole period. I think if you're in a sport you should still do PE because this PE could be weight lifting and that helps athletes a ton.
