Recently, the school added a new rule permitting hats in the classroom (if the teacher allows) and around the school. As Mrs. Ring stated in her email, these hats can be anything from stocking hats, to baseball caps, but they all must be school appropriate. They also cannot be a distraction to anyone, and cannot impact our learning environment in the classroom. If a teacher decides that a hat shouldn’t be able to be worn, it will be treated like a dress code violation. The first offense would be a warning, the second would be a lunch detention, and the third would be a detention. If it continues, some students could lose their rights to wear hats.
In my opinion, I don’t think that people should be allowed to wear hats in school. The point of wearing baseball hats is to protect your eyes from the sun, so it doesn’t make sense to be wearing them inside. I think that these hats are going to start to be a big distraction, and I think that they could begin impacting our school more than they probably should. We will just have to see what happens with the hats at the end of the semester, and if they end up adding the rule to the handbook or not.
On the other hand, wearing hats makes some people feel more comfortable in the school setting. If someone has a bad hair day, a hat would be a good way to cover it up.

I haven't really thought about hats that way. I guess I could see why some people might think that way abouts hats, though.
In my opinion, schools should allow students to have the choice to wear hats. I feel this way because there may be problems with some students hiding their identity with the cameras and hiding things under their hats, but that doesn't apply to the majority of students. Instead, schools should have a rule that your face must be visible and allow checking students' hats.
I agree. I don't think that the majority of students would just be trying to cover their faces from the cameras in the school building.
I don't have a problem with people wearing hats to school. I also don't see the reason to wear a hat to school if it is not cold out or if it's not a dress up day. I think if the teacher is okay with students wearing hats in their class then its okay.
I can see that. I don't really understand why people need to wear hats, but it doesn't really matter if they end up wearing them.
I think hats should be allowed in school. I personally will not ever wear a hat in school because I do not care for hats but I don't mind when people do. I feel like wearing hats in school is going to turn into a problem and people are going to abuse this rule.

I think that hats are not a huge problem in schools, sometimes it is a style choice, and sometimes people just feel better with a hat on. I think that this rule of teacher's choice on the hats in their classroom is a good temporary compromise, but over time it will get more confusing which teachers allow hats and which do not. For the long term, I think the rule on hats should be consistent all throughout the school.
I think hat should be allowed in school bhecasue it trhere personal idea on what there want. If there feel there should wear a hat there should be able to. I also feel hat might be bad for kid becasue if you set behind them you might not able to see over them.
I think that people should be able to wear hats in school. I think that people should be able to wear hats in school if it has nothing bad on it or if it is not inapropreat. If someone wants to were a hat in school, who are we to stop them ( unless it is somthing not school apropeat)?
