Abortion is when you terminate a baby from the woman's uterus, and it usually takes place before 28 weeks of the pregnancy. However, in Iowa, abortion is only legal to take place before 6 weeks. There are many ways to get an abortion. For example, you can take abortion pills named Mifepristone that blocks a hormone called progesterone. Then, you would take a pill called Misoprostol that causes the uterus, that holds the baby, to empty as the fetus passes. It usually causes really bad bleeding and cramping, just like a heavier period.
During the late 1700s and the early 1800s, abortion was legal. Herbs and other medication were known as abortion inducing before the procedure of removing the fetus was common. Abortion was legal in mid the 1800s, but only till the "quickening" stage. The "quickening" stage is between 4-5 months and it's the point in the pregnacy when the mother can start to feel the baby move around. If any enslaved women were to get impregnated, the slave owners would forbid the women to get an abortion.
Jane Roe (Norma McCorvy) was denied an abortion while pregnant with her third child, because there were no medical issue that could harm Roe. At the time, she lived in Texas that had a law that you couldn't get an abortion unless it was medically needed. She was not okay with that so she fought for women's rights to abortion. While, Henry Wade, on the other hand, wanted to completly ban abortion all around the nation. Roe is pro choice, so she believes that the woman has the choice to abort the baby. Where as Wade is pro life, so he believe that the baby should not be aborted under most circumstances.
I am pro life because I consider abortion murder. But even if getting impregnated was an acident, it is still your baby and you chose to spread you legs. The only reason I would be pro choice would be if the woman was rapped or for any medical reasons that would harm or kill the mother. Otherwise, the mother should have the baby because there are other ways to not kill the baby and not be the legal gardian of the baby.

I think under some circumstances abortion should be legal. I think the the father should have a choice, because if we wants to own up to his mistake and father the child then so be it. I am pro life, I think that every baby deserves a chance at life. I think these guys just need to accept the consequences.
I agree because it is still that fathers baby, and every baby deserves that chance to live even if it isn't raised by its biolodgecal parents.
I think that abortion should be a womans choice since it is her baby and her body, but i also think that the family of the baby should also have a say in if the baby should be aborted or not. I am pro choice.
I think it should be the women's choice if they want to have an abortion or not. If they were to get raped and do not want the child they should have the choice to do an abortion or not. That is why I think Abortion should be allowed in certain circumstances.
I personally dont think that abortion should be legal. If abortions werent a thing people wouldnt have the choice to just give up their childs life just because they didint want to bring a child into the world. Some may be against adoption, but this would be a way better alternative compared to giving up that babys life that never had the chance to do the things we take for granted.
I think abortion should always be up tot he mother, because some woman who get pregnant can't take care of the kid how they should. Some people can afford it or they know they aren't in a good enough place to parent a child. Thye could have a drug issue or be in a bad place living wise. Forcing them to keep it, in my mind, is just wrong.
I agree that it is wrong, but I see abortion as murder. And just because the mother isn't in a good place doesn't mean she has to take care of it, she could give it to the father or have somebody adopt it.
Abortion should be the womans choice. Just because she got pregnent doesnt meen she wanted to, she couldve be raped or the pregnation coudlve been an accident. The father should have a choice since it is also his kid. If the mom says she wants an abortion last minute or very late in pregnancy she father should have more of a say, but if she said she didnt want it early in pregnency they should talk it out and find an aggrement. I agree that the women should have the baby, but the father should still have the say because it is his baby. He helped produce the baby and if he wants the baby but the mother doesn't then he should be able to keep that baby.
