Teachers and students were very disturbed this last week when they came to discover a slur with racial intent was written on one of their mirrors. The slur was "White lives matter" followed with the use of the N word. The principal made a promise to the students that he would take every precaution to find out who wrote the slur. He also stated that "Actions and speech that are motivated by hate, not love, have no place in school". Most of the student that had to see it were harshly offended and think this person should be suspended.

I personally think that this person is just a selfish person who wasn't thinking about others and thought he/she would be funny.
2. What do you think the punishment for the crime should be?
I think they should be suspended for a long time because what they said is not right and offended a lot of people.

I feel its just to start drama and honestly all people want is a reaction out of someone by this action. I think people need to grow up in the world and make peace. They should get expelled because stuff like this people need to know that its wrong and not ok
I think that this slur should be accepted because people say "black lives matter" all the time. I understand that the word that followed the "white lives matter" statement was extremely disrespectful, but why are people allowed to say "black lives matter" and some can't say "white lives matter?" I think that the student should face in school suspension or possibly detention because the language used was unnecessary.
I think that they wants some attention and did not think before doing this. Kids do dumb things. I think that they should be punished by having to do community service as well as being suspended for some time. Racial slurs are never okay and his actions need to be disciplined other wise they will think that they can continue to do this.

To be honest it was probably a dumb kid who was trying to be cool or something so They probably did't mean it but wanted to be cool. Kids make dumb choices all the time. And you can't really punish an opinion but you could try to show or tell them how what hey are doing and saying is wrong. But i'm not 100% sure.
I think someone was probably trying to make a "funny" joke, but obviously they were the only one that thought this was funny. I can't think why anyone would want to write this otherwise. I think that this person should be sent to jail
I think the person was not thinking clearly when this happened. He must have thought he was doing something that others would think is funny but he was wrong. I'm not sure what the punishment should be but I would say something along the lines of suspension or expelled.
I think people are very hateful in today's world, and they want to draw attention or stir something up, which is unfortunate. I think that the person who did this should be suspended because discriminatory language shouldn't be tolerated. It is important for students to feel safe, and people who do bad things like this make it an unsafe environment.
