John Deere autonomous tractors are fairly new they unveiled them in 2022. The tractor is not out for production yet, but a few farmers have tried the autonomous function. The autonomous tractor means there doesn't have to be a farmer inside the tractor controlling it. This makes farmer's operations more efficient. Autonomous tractors will make the farmer more money and it makes the farmer more free time to spend with their family or work on other things on the farm. The autonomous tractor also saves the farmer money by not having to pay and employ to run the machine. The autonomous tractor works by a star fire globe which receives data and send out data to help the tractor know where it is at all time. The tractor also has 360 cameras combined with a high-speed processor that analyzes all the data the cameras and globe are sending in about 100 milliseconds. This means if the tractor sees a rock or a fencee or something it is not supposed to hit it will stop instantly and send a notification the Operation Center and that will let the farmer look at the camera and decide to let the tractor go over it or the farmer will have to go out and remove the object. The autonomous tractor is equipped with a full interior ready for an operator to run the machine. The farmer/operator has to drive the machine to a field and then they can press start and get out of the cab. But first, the farmer has to go around the outside of the field mapping the borders. The farmer has to do this so the machine knows what it has to get done and so it knows its limits. Another benefit to autonomous tractors is the tractor will never be late, like an employee could be, and the tractor will run all night and day as long as you keep fuel to it. Farmers can monitor the tractor with their phone, iPad, or their computer. They do this by the John Deere Operation Center. The operation center shows the farmer how much of the field is done, and how much is left in the field. The operation center also shows the status of the tractor, which would be the fuel level how fast it's going, and where it is at in the field.
If you were a farmer would you want an autonomous tractor?
How much do you think the autonomous tractor will cost?
Do you think in the future autonomous tractors will be the only thing around?

If i were i farmer i would not trust an atonomous trator to do field work, but in the future i think that they will be more common amoung farmers to make farming eaiser. I think that the atonomous tractors will cost about $500,000 to $750,000
I think that if I had a big farm and not enough or bad employees, I would want an autonomous tractor. There is no way these tractors won't start off costing over $100,000. However, I think that 50 years from now, they will be somewhat common and cheaper.
I agree it will help bigger farms and I think they will get cheaper over the years but personally, I think the tractor is going to cost around 900,000 to 1 million dollars.
I dont know what the future will hold for autonomous tractors but I think personally they could be a big thing in the future. If there was a shortage of workers and things really needed to get done they could be really helpful and efficient. I could see a lot of people switching over to this method in the future because it requires less work.
I eould not want an autonumus tractor because if a squirell got up in there and chewed some cords it go haywire and end up in someones living room. but it may increase production rates because they can work for longer amounts of time.
I think autonmous tractor should be a thing becasuse if you have flat frield it is very nice to set it snd just set back and relax. But also if something wrong it could end up being very bad.
For our farm in missouri I would use an autonomous tractor for very little. As we have livestock and rowcrop, we have plenty of staff to work on these two with the tractors available. Most of which being family, emloyment is important. However, as there are not many people in this town, I can see us transitioning into an autonomous future, as it requires less work.
I can see how people with cattle could use the Atounomus tractor less but I could see how big farmers that have row crop and cattle could use the tractor more so they can spend more time working their cattle.
I would only want an autonomous tractor if I couldn't find any workers or if I was testing the tractor for a company. I think the autonomous tractor will cost $750,000 or $1,000,000. I don't see any company selling an autonomous tractor for less than this amount.
If i was a farmer it would be nice to at least try one to see how it would perform. I think having one would allow you to get more done around the farm. The price of one would be very high due to all the electronics being used. Im not typically a fan of electronic things so i would stick with regulare tractors if i was a farmer.
