Derek Tyson and his family first spotted the rattler on Sunday, he told Fox News.

A snake over 6 foot in length was spotted in Florida crossing a 10 foot Sidewalk in a golf cart crossing. Many people stopped and took pictures. These snakes were found a lot in florida, but this one is great in size and was the first one spotted in this area. People were told to keep there dogs away and not get to close. If you get bit by this type of snake, the results are not good. It is very venomous and unless you get help quickly after, It gets worse fast. People have ended up having to cut off fingers and sometimes arms for not getting help soon and the poison spreading. With this snake found in a golfing area for the first time, people were not getting to close. Many people drove by and then did U turns to come back again to see it again. This was an unusual siting for people to enjoy. To read the whole story, click here.

Questions:

  1. What would your first reaction be to this snake? Why? (startled, curious, scared, interested, etc.)
  2. Would you stay to see what would happen, or continue golfing/walking around?
  3. What is your prediction to what happened to the snake after it was spotted? (did animal control come, did people leave it alone, etc.)

My Answers:

  1. I would be startled at first, but then curious to see more of it. Snakes are not the most friendly, but to me, one of the most interesting
  2. I am one of the people that would stay and see what would happen. Once people came to get it or it went under ground again, then I would go back and continue what I was doing.
  3. I don't know for sure what happened, but my prediction before I read about it was that it went under ground. I sounded like people were enjoying it more than getting scared by it.

  • Good job on your summary but you only commented two times. -5 late

  • I would be scared to see that big of a snake. I wouldnt have any interest in getting close to it or even curoius and interacting with it. I think people would leave it alone or chase it off so with wasnt close to them or move any further into the open.

  • I would be very surprised if I saw a snake of this size. I would watch it for a little bit and see what tis doing and then probably return to what I was doing. Im not sure what happened afterwards but im sure many of different things could have happened.

  • I would be more curious but keep a safe distance. I would proably watch it from a safe distance to see where an what it would do. I am guessing animal control came jsut to transfer it to a same place.

  • 1. Surprise it that big and it out in the opening and want to know why is it at the golf area.

    2. I won't be watching what would happen next I won't be golfing either.

    3. Maybe animal control came and got the snake to else where.

  • I'd be pretty startled walking up and seeing this thing up close, i'd stay to see anything that happens to it but keeping my distance, and im pretty positive that an animal specialist took care of it.

  • If I saw this snake, my first reaction would be very startled and scared. I would definitely not be curious or interested, I would be very freaked out and would get away from it. I wouldn't stay or continue what I was doing, I would get away from it since it is venemous. I feel like someone would have called animal control because of the danger of the snake.

  • I would be freaked out at first and jump back and be scared out of my wits but then I'd think of how slow snakes generally move and likely peer at it closer and get as close as I dare without being close enough that it could strike and bit me. I think that once the snake was spotted animal control probably came because while some snakes are common in some places, this one was really venemous and could really hurt someone who didn't listen to the warning.

  •  I would be kind of freaked out, because I dont like snakes. I  wouldn't stay because im not that interested in snakes. Im sure someone would come and take the snake away so people could golf and not be scared.

  • I would probably be startled at first by the snake but then fascinated after because snakes are interesting to me. If I saw it I would probably continue to do what I was doing but I would stay away from that area to keep myself out of danger. I would guess either nothing happened to the animal or animal control relocated it.
