Our planet is a spectacular place but it needs our help to prosper that is why each year on April 22nd we celebrate the Earth and clean up garbage. Earth Day started April 22nd 1970. It was established by Senator Gaylord Nelson in San Francisco.
Senator Gaylord Nelson invented Earth Day because there was no Clean Air or Clean Water Act to protect our environment. The Clean Air Act Is a federal law that regulates all sources of air emissions For example cars, trucks, and factories. The Clean Water Act is a law governing Pollution control and water quality For example throwing trash into a lake Factories put their waste into lakes.
Since the first Earth Day, studies show that there has been an increase in environmental awareness in America.
Do you take care of your Earth and how ?
Do you take care of your earth on Earth Day or throughout the year?
Do you feel like Earth Day is helping our environment ?

I love this topic choice Riley! Your summary is quite brief, was posted late and youd didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points.
I think that Earth day has a small impact because I feel like most people don't change what they do at all on earth day. I know that me personaly I don't do anything special on earth day but I try to recycle when I can.
I personally think that while Earth Day may have small impact on the world when you look closely, zooming out shows the real affect on the environment. If lots of people tried to participate I feel like the impact could be worth it in the end. I try to take care of the Earth whenever I can.
I think that Earth Day is a good thing and it is making a small change. I take care of the Earth by recycling and not littering. I also try to use reusable water bottles but sometimes its hard when eating out or buying things. I think that a lot of things are being wasted, but Earth Day can help.
I feel like Earth Day helps a little bit, but honsetly I don't know that a lot of people know when earth day even is. I try to take care of the earth trought the year but a lot of times I just forget. I try to take care of the earth by not wasting food and also not using plastic stuff as often.
I think earth day kinda helps because it spreads awareness on our earth and why we should take care of it. I take care of the earth by recycling my trash. I also never throw my trash outside, I always throw it away in the trashcan.
I think I do enough to erase my carbon footprint. My family recycles and takes out trash. Many groups of people help out and clean up to "save the earth" so there are people that try to help. I don't know if Earth Day actually does anything because people might help out a little bit more but not much.
Yes I take care of earth by throwing away my own trash and not driving around all the time with my friends. Throughout the year because it's better to pick up the earth throughout the year then once a year. Earth day the more people hear about it they probably pick up a little more but not as much as people are saying.
I do help take care of our Earth from not littering. I have always thrown my trash to the nearest trash can and not just throwing it onto the ground. A few years ago, me and my cousins went around town to nearby creeks or even parks, just like public places and we picked up all the trash that was scattered. I do think Earth day is helping our enviroment because that day makes people realize to pick up trash localy.
I take care of the Earth a little bit, but one person can only do so much. For example, every so often I go and walk to ditches of my house and pick up the trash that people throw out. I don't think I've ever done something specifically on Earth Day because I do it more through the year. I feel Earth Day is a good thing.
