Coming Together For Someone You Don't Even Know

Freshman football team at Mountain View High School bought bracelets to rise money for a 4 year old they didn't even know who has cancer. Addison a four-year-old girl diagnosed with Neuroblastoma which is a form of childhood cancer. Addison started chemotherapy about two weeks ago. Her mom had to quit her job to drive Addison to chemotherapy because she has to many appointments a week. "She drives in from Sahuarita to UMC almost every single day, because along with chemo, comes with all sorts of other doctor appointments to check on her heart, to check on her hearing all things that can deteriorate from chemotherapy," said Jennifer Roberts, a family friend. So their friend Jennifer started "Team Addison" a way to raise money for her and her family. The whole freshman team in her town bought the bracelets to raise money. The team didn’t even know who she was it was just a act of kindness. They wear them before every game and after every game. Jennifer hopes that more people will hear the story and buy the wristbands.

Would you raise money for someone that was in need of money?

Yes, I would get people together and think of an idea that would help to get money for someone that is ill or in need. I know that if I would in their spot I would want people helping out to raise money.

Would you quit your job to run someone in your family that is sick to all of their appointments?

Yes, I would make sure they were getting all of their check ups that they needed so they wouldn't get anymore sick then they already are. So if that means quitting my job or getting a different job that you would be able to do it in the car then I would do that for my family.

  • Well done Shelby!

  • I would probably raise moeny for someone that is in need of money but it also depends on the situation because I don't think I would just do it for no reason I would be more likley to do it if there was a reason or if it was for someone I know. I probably wouldn't quit my job because that would be part of how I would help pay for all the appointments.

  • Yes because medical bills pile up fast and are super expensive! I would ask clubs to get involved and the community to help out. Yes you need to be there for them so they dont fell alone.

  • Yes, I would talk to some of my classmates, friends, and family. Then we think how much we could raise.Yes and no , I would drop them off at the appointment go to my job  or I could stay then tell the boss I'll be gone.

  • I would raise the money for them. Especially because of the situation that they are in. I would do anything it takes to help them get better even if it means to give up things I love and enjoy. Sometimes we have to do things we do not necesarilly want to do, in order to take care of the people we love.

  • Yes I would try to help out and raise money. I would not quit my job I would just take time off to take them to the appointments.

  • I would help raise money for soemone who is in need and try to come up with the best way that would raise the most money. I would quit my job because if doing that meant I could help save their life I would. It is also important for them to get all of their checkups and chemotherapy and that would be the only way for it to happen.

    • I agree with what you are saying I would raise as much money as I could for the family because I can't emagine what it would be like to be them. I also think that they need to get to all of their appointments so they don't get anymore sick then they already are.

  • Yes. It's a nice thing to do for someone who is in need of money. Especially when they are in need of money due to spending a lot on their health and trying to save themself from dying from cancer. Yes, I would quit my job to run someone in my family that is sick to all of their appointments. I'm sure I would have to find some type of job that I could do from my phone on the go or something like that to at least make some money.

    • I think that is a great idea to still have a job but it would be a on the go job. I think if that was my only choice I would do it. I think because of all of the bills you would need some kind of job so you will still be able to have some spare money.
