12-year old's husband in jail??

An Indonesian Muslim cleric who sparked a national outcry by marrying a 12-year-old girl was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison

Judges at the Semarang District Court said Pujiono Cahyo Widianto, 46, was found guilty of sexually abusing a minor.

The cleric, who also ran an Islamic boarding school and owned several businesses, hosted a lavish wedding in Central Java province in 2008 that was attended by thousands of people.

He claimed at the time he hadn't done anything wrong because he had no plans to consummate the marriage until the girl reached puberty.

WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?!? why would they let this happen?

Its Indonnesia...customs and morals are different there I guess. In psychology we learned about a nine year old girl from, Indonnesia, I think, that was discovered to be pregnant, by an unknown man in her village. This was many years ago, but still...some pretty messed up things happen out in the world.

Wow that is horrible at age twelve any one will do anything and the mind really doesn't know. She may feel in love but she probably really isn't. This a big deal and i wonder what the man had in plan to do with her.

The parents arent even there..bad parenting. Someone had to of stopped this from happening. And you would think that they would sentence her to at least juvy not JAIL.

woh. that is super freaky. she is way to young to be married even to someone her own age. Hopefully her parents dont support her in this decision

Oh my gosh!! I mean I know when it comes to love 'age is just a number'... but what does a 12-year-old know?! That's just insane!! No way I would allow a 12-year-old and a 46-year-old to marry eachother!

this is the weirdest guy why would you marry a 12 year old girl and not someone your own age.
