bay of pigs- BAY in cuba. WE WERE CONCERNED. cuba became communist and aligned there selves with soviet union. go and invade huge fiasco imberrasement of kennedy we promised support and ddint give it to them. then cuba asked soviet union to bring in nuclear weapons
berlin wall- 1961- blockaded west berlin. brinkmanship ... people trying to have freedom wall think soviet union will always have income and equality built the wall knew they were the bad guy but still built it. to keep everyone in east berlin if people tried to escape people would be killed would try to escape through sewer or jump out of buildings. .. west was free side
red scare macarthy- fear after world war 2.scared of china falling to communism. smift acts cant advocate or support the government its illegal mccarthere was a senetar from Wisconsin there was mccarthism he was really against communism and try and get it away in many ways he would have hearing and ask gave a speech saying he has a list of 205 people that work fo rthe state that are communist so causing red scare mccarther became from a little senator now most powerful person in the united states downfall was when mccarther started balming people that there was communist in the military. then started blaming mccarther that isn't true and senate condemmed him and he couldn't do anything
