  1. Describe the situation/conflict between the US and North Korea.-10 points We have a lot of conflict with North Korea. Dennis Rodmen a NBA player has been going over to North Korea to do some “Basketball Diplomacy.”  Dennis had a special game for him and sang Kim Jong-Un Happy Birthday. When he has gone over to North Korea he has not sober, most of the time when he is giving speeches he is highly intoxicated. Later he did apologized for being drunk and saying bad things about Kenneth Bae, who is a prisoner in North Korea from the US who did admit to some crime like having a bible. Conflict still goes on because of the nuclear testing. The living conditions in North Korea are very bad also. They are a very poor. People are struggling to even stay alive. North Korea is putting all the money towards their military, that’s why they are a very poor country.

 What are the main economic and political systems that are practiced in the world and how do they differ?-10.  Political Systems are how the government runs a country. Oligarchy is the same group of people always running things. Democracy is either direct or representative. Anarchy is an absence of government. Economic systems are the production and distribution of goods and services. Capitalism is when the people have more control over and a say in things more than the government. Socialism is when the government owns and controls more than the people. Mixed Economy is a mix of both.

10 Income inequality is an income distributed in an uneven amount to the population.  It is an issue because the top 1% control 40% of the U.S. money.  We should tax the rich more that the money will trickle down to the poor and lessen inequality. We could also increase minimum wage.

 What are the major differences between democrats and republicans in the United States?-10 Democrats are more libera, republicans are more conservative. Democrats believe that the government should help the people on welfare, they want more equal. Republicans want less governmental power and believes in rights rather than believing in welfare rights. Democrats look more towards the government and the republicans look towards people looking after themselves. Republicans want the right to earn equality. Democrats want the right to legislate equality. The main conflicts right now are abortion, gun control, and legalization of marijuana, health care, taxes, and immigration.

5. Describe US diplomacy/foreign policy over the years.-20 We went into the Civil War in 1861-1865, this war was mainly over trying to abolish slavery. After that came Era of Imperialism, it is stronger countries taking over weaker countries.  Powers that took over other countries were Great Britain, France, Germany, and Russia.  Most countries were taking over China and Africa. Next, was the Spanish-American War in 1898 with Spain. It only lasted three months. At the end of the war, we signed the Treaty of Paris and we gained Cuba, Puerto Rico, Philippines and Guam. Germany lost a lot in the war. WW2 happened a lot because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The world was brought us out of the Great Depression. The US and Soviet Union were not on good terms, starting the Cold War. The Cold happened in 1945 and ended in 1991. In 1979, the Soviets invade Afghanistan, and US comes in to help Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. The Persian Gulf War: Iraq invaded Kuwait. The 9/11 attacks and many other attacks on the US were planned by Hussein and carried out by Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

6. Describe the importance of the US Constitution and the Amendments.-20 The Legislative Branch is made of Congress including the House and Senate; they make laws, can impeach people, create government jobs, declare war, and approve presidential appointments. The Executive Branch is made up of the vice-president, president, and the cabinet; can make executive orders, can veto or sign laws, and send troops overseas for 60 days. The Judicial Branch will declare whether laws or constitutional or not. The first ten amendments were established as the bill of rights. Voting rights were given to all kinds of people like women and blacks. Slavery was abolished, and alcohol was banned starting the prohibition. We would have no rights if we didn’t have the Amendments.  First three articles are the most important. There are seven articles that determine how the government runs. So far there are 27 amendments.  Amendments are tough to pass; they go through a longer and harder process to become an amendment. 

7. Describe the impact Climate Change may have on the world.-10 30 National landmarks in the United States might be damaged or lost forever because the effects of climate change. The list of issues are includes rising seas, coastal erosion, flooding, heavy rains, drought, and intense wildfires. That more land will become water. Especially for people that live on the coast. Species and plants are decreasing also. A lot of the people are getting blamed for this by all the CO2 in the air. It is damaging the ozone layer.
