Would you rather have a year round school with lots of breaks, or keep the traditional school year with all of summer break? Well ultimately both ways have the same amount of days which is about 180 school days. However, with the traditional school year you work hard for 9 months straight with a little bit of breaks in between and then we get three months off with summer. On the other end, year round school has lots of different breaks but we don’t have that full summer. Let's look into the pros and cons and see which schooling is the best.
Let's start off talking about the year round school year. One pro to having year round school is that students could be more successful since they don’t have the long summer break to forget some of the material. They will be fresh after breaks and come back to school strong. They also have many breaks which could help students to not get so overwhelmed. With more breaks, students have more time to clear their mind of school and all the stress.
Now there are also cons of year round school. Typically, year round schools are more expensive because they need more staff, more supplies, and other resources. This is a downfall for parents because they are the ones paying for the schooling. Another big downfall is that you don’t have a full summer. In summer families like to go on vacations and kids can make a lot of money if they find a job to work at daily.
Now we’ll talk about the other side. A Traditional school year has a schedule which is very strict. This helps students to know for sure when they have to get their projects or homework done. They also have extra curricular activities like sports, art, music, and others. These activities can build skills for a certain job someday.
However, there are also cons of a traditional school year. Traditional schooling does have summer breaks but it doesn’t have the advantages of lots of different breaks. With more breaks, students could have less stress because they have time to refrain from school for a little bit. Traditional schooling also has the long summer break. And like I said earlier this could cause students to forget some of the material since they have not been refreshed for 3 months.
I would rather keep the regular schooling system. For me personally, I need to have a strict schedule if I want to be on top of my homework. Plus I think the long summer is a very important break for me. I also love to have a job in the summer with nothing else distracting me. I also feel like sports wouldn’t be the same without my classmates.
Would you rather have traditional or year round school?
Which schooling would you learn better in?
Would you rather have a long summer break or a bunch of little breaks?

I have always gone to a traditonal school. I like that we have almost all of summer break. I don't think I would like a year-round school because then it would feel like school would never end. I would learn better in a year round school, but I belive what we are doing is just fine.
I would rather have traditional school instead of year round school because of the summer break. I would rather have 1long break than have more days for smaller breaks. I feel like I would learn better in a traditional school just because a year round school would be mentally draining.
I would rather have traditional school because having that long summer break is so great. I feel having a bunch of little breaks just wouldn't be as solid as having a long summer break. I personaly think I would learn better in the traditional school system because I would be able to rest my mind during the long summer break.
While year-round school would be quicker and easier to finish school, I feel that it is important to have a summer break. I think that summer break is important for students. They get to relax and have time to do things they couldn't during the school year. I would rather have a long summer break!
In my opinion, I would rather have traditional school because of the leniency of summer break. It also feels like summer break is an end goal of the school year, but having year-round school would feel like you are constantly at school without end. Summer break is also a great time for you to relax and not worry about school for a lond period of time. Because of this, I prefer traditional school schedules.
I would rather have traditional school. I think I would probably learn better in year round schooling but that's just too much school. If we had year round schooling we would have school for around 14 years straight not including college. I would rather have a long summer break.
I totally agree because it does seem like you could learn for efficiently but I can still work hard in traditional schooling and still learn. But since we're just kids and growing up I would definitly want to keep the summer because that's how we make fun memories.
I would have traditional school because I like to have the summer to refresh and have a long time with less stress. Plus during the summer I help out in my grandpa's fields so if school started and my family couldn't help out the business would decrease a lot. I think I would learn better in the traditional school year just because I've been doing it for a long time and have gotten used to the rotation and couldn't switch it now. I would rather have a long summer break than a bunch of little breaks.
I Belive all year around school with lots of breaks would be a great idea. Although their would be lots of concerns, I believe it would be difficult for students to adjust to a new grade in the same year, but the breaks would help a lot with that.
Personally, I enjoy having a long summer break before going back to school for the year, but I would be willing to try a year-round school. The occasional long breaks does sound appealing, but would be frustrating losing the summer break. I think I would learn better with traditional, because there is only one break where I would need a recap of what I previously learned, compared to constantly needing a recap after every break.
