On November 1st, 2022, Taylor Swift announced that she will be touring the US. She originally had 27 shows, then added an extra 25, due to her high demand of tickets. Over 3.5 million fans registered for a verified fan program, and only 2.5 million people were given a presale code. The remaining 1 million fans that had signed up, had to wait till her public sale. Her tickets went on presale on November 15th, 2022. When the tickets were on presale many fans had to wait many hours in the Ticketmaster queue. Ticketmaster crashed and it took 3+ hours for it to come back. When they finally got in to purchase tickets, it was almost impossible. If you tried to buy 2 seats, someone already beat you to it. If you spent too much time getting tickets, you will be kicked out and back in line in the queue. All the tickets during the presale were sold out. Ticketmaster had to cancel the public sale. Many fans did not get the chance to get tickets. On November 18th, 2022, Taylor Swift posted on her Instagram story talking about how she had asked Ticketmaster if they could handle the high demand for tickets. They reassured her that they could. Taylor Swift apologized to her fans for the hard time it was getting tickets. Taylor Swift said that she hopes to give the fans more opportunities to be able to go to her concerts.
Taylor Swift started her Tour on March 17th, 2023. Her concert starts at 8pm and ends around 11pm. She performed through each era of her music career. From happy and joyful music from fearless, to folk and indie songs from folklore. She performed 45 songs, with choreography and dancers. Many people say that The Eras Tour isn’t like any other concert that they’ve been to. Taylor Swift ended her US tour on August 9th, 2023. 15 days later, she started her international tour, in Mexico. The international tour has 78 shows. It will last until November 2024.
There was a 4.4% chance of getting tickets. I was super lucky to be able to get a ticket. I went to The Eras Tour on July 7th, 2023. In Kansas City, Mo. It was amazing! Everyone was so nice and I even traded bracelets. My favorite era was Speak Now. Taylor Swift was so incredible. (I cried when she went on stage!) She even brought out a few celebrities on stage, Joey King, Taylor Lautner, and Presley Cash.
The Eras Tour was a once in a lifetime experience. I’m so happy that she gets to do this around the world. It’s so upsetting that many people got to miss out on this because of Ticketmaster. But there are so many ways people can still watch the concert online, from livestreaming and videos.
What is your opinion on Taylor Swifts Ticketmaster drama?
Were you the 4.4% of people who got a ticket?

I had heard problems surrounding Ticketmaster and Taylor Swift, and it sounded like a big problem. I did not get tickets during the pre-sale, because I am not a fan of Taylor's music. I do think that Ticketmasters should have predicted that this tour would be a huge hit. Though there was a big upset with Ticketmaster, her tour has been one of the most talked about tours in the past few years.
Taylor Swift has have 100 million monthly listeners on spotify. Ticketmaster should have known the huge damand for tickets. Its no joke that the eras tour is a big hit. Its the biggest concert of this year.
I got nosebleed seats at her concert, and it was still amazing. I loved every second of it. It is such a shame that alot of people got to miss out on getting tickets from ticketmaster. But luckiliy you got tickets on Stub Hub
I think that ticketmaster should have known the demand of people wanting to get tickets, and should have prepared for the amount of crazyness that would come with sell eras tour tickets. I am so glad that I was able to go to her show with my sisters, it was amazing!
I agree. Ticketmaster should have known how popular Taylor Swift is, and should have been more prepared. The concert was incredible. I love how everyone put on a flashlight durring taylors song to her grandma.
I think the impact that Taylor Swift has on the music industry is insane. The Eras Tour is the highest-grossing tour ever, basically doubling Elton John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour which was the previous placeholder. I am not a huge Swiftie so I didn't go, but it definitely was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I think that the whole thing with Ticketmaster couldn't have been avoided. When you have such a huge fanbase it's kind of hard to not break the internet.
I agree with you. The ticketmaster thing probably couldn't have been avoided. Even thought Taylor Swift thought ticketmaster could have handled it. It is incredilbe that her tour basically double Eltons Johns Concert.
It shows how much the fans really want to see her by starting with tickets being sold out. The Eras Tour had a really good turn out and it had crazy prices for a ticket to go to one of her concerts. It was nice for Taylor Swift to add more tours to give the fans anlother chance. Also hearing that a lot of people were tailgating outside of Arrowhead with a parking pass, it would make you feel like you were inside the concert. Although I was not one of the lucky people to go see her, it all sounded like fun to hear her in person.
With the Taylor Swift tickets being sold out, it shows how loyal her fans are. They would sit for hours on ticketmaster just for a ticket. There were so many people who did not get a ticket. But there are instagram accounts and tiktok accounts that livestream her concerts. So everyone across the world can still enjoy the concert, from their home.
The Eras Tour is clearly amazing resulting in all tickets being completly sold out. I however was not one of the lucky ones that ended up with a ticket. Although I was part of the 33% that tailgated her Kansas city concert on July 8th 2023. I believe that tailgating her concert that night was the next best thing to being inside of the Arrowhead Stadium. That night 100s if not 1000s of us were singing and dancing outside Arrowhead Staduim while having our phones pulled up on Ticket Master, StubHub, and Tickets Now incase there were any tickets being sold or added last minute. Even though I was not part of the 4.4% of people that got a ticket it was truly an amazing experience lisening to Taylor Swift outside of the Kansas City stadium.
