Some argue that college should be a requirement for NBA/NFL athletes. They believe that attending college shows athletes further develops their skills and knowledge of the game. College provides a structured environment where athletes are able to receive professional coaching, access to high level facilities, and compete against many other talented players. Additionally, college offers a valuable education that can serve as a backup plan if their professional sports career doesn’t work out. It gives athletes life skills, critical thinking abilities, and a broader perspective that can benefit them beyond the sports field. On the other side of the argument, people believe that these talented athletes should have the freedom to pursue their professional careers straight out of high school. They argue that highschool athletes may not need the additional years in college, as they may already have the necessary talent and have the potential for success. By entering the NBA or NFL earlier, these athletes can start earning a living sooner and provide financial support for not only themselves and their families. The professional sports industry offers great opportunities for growth and development that cannot be made up in a college setting. Finally, the question of whether college should be a requirement for NBA/NFL athletes has turned into a popular question recently. It involves weighing the benefits of college education, skill development, and personal growth against the potential opportunities and financial stability that professional sports can offer. Both sides of the debate have valid points, and the decision should consider the individual circumstances and their goals of the athletes. It’s a topic that inspires discussions and the ongoing debate of what's best for the future of sports and the athletes themselves. In my opinion I think that they shouldn’t be required to attend college before going professional. I think this because it should be their choice, and there shouldn’t be a choice made for them.

Do you think athletes should be required to go to college?

If yes, how many years should they go for?

Do you think they learn other necessary skills at college?

    • I understand what you are saying and where you are coming from, but I do not agree with you. I understand that college can be a great experience for an athlete, because they would learn many skills that would help them improve at their sport and mature as a person. But if they have enough talent to go pro then they should have the option to.

  • I think that everyone should have to go to college before playing sports professionally. The reason for this is that not only would college help transition athletes to playing against more skilled opponents, but they would also learn and develop skills not having to do with sports.

    • I understand your opinion, but I do not agree with you. I think that they can impove as an athlete and as a person from attending at least one year of college. But by playing one year in college they can lose out on the pay they would get from the pros and risk injury.

  •  I think it should stay the way it is and not change. I think college is a good time for athletes to continue growing and to get stronger. I think they learn skills at college that can benefit them in the future.

  • I think that they should keep it how it has been. I say this because it is always good for more expirence and it gets them more pro ready. I do thinmk they also learn more through college.

  • I dont think athletes should be required to go to college. I think kids will learn skills in college that they won't learn if they just learn pro but I also belive that money talks and if they can get paid million right our of high school, why wouldn't you want that

    • I totally agree with you, if an athlete does not think that college is necessary for them. Then they should not have the requirement to attend it, if they can go straight to the professional league instead.

  • I would suggest getting a college degree, but I don't think it should be required. I think that everybody should have a backup plan, especially in sports because of the high risk of a career ending injury. If somebody can go pro right out of high school and wants to, they can still do college online.

    • I understand where you are coming from, but I think that getting a college degree is not necessary for athletes if they can go play professionally. I think that it is good for certain athletes to have a backup plan in case they can't make it in the pros, but it shouldn't be required.

  • I don't think athletes should be required to go to college. If they're confident and put full commitment in then they should get in.
