Darth Vader Runs for Mayor

A man in Ukraine, formerly known as Aleksey Shechenko, has changed his name to Darth Vader. His reasoning behind the change is that 3 percent of the Ukraine population voted for Darth Vader as a protest vote in the previous presidential election. Although he is not currently running for the Ukrainian Presidency, Darth Vader is trying to become the mayor of multiple major cities.

I think if this man wants to run for president, he should be allowed to, but I don't think he should have changed his name to Darth Vader. Would you change your name to get more publicity? Do you think he will become mayor?

i think this is really cool. i wonder if there are more reasons to why he would want to change it. i probably wouldnt change it cause im not really tht stupid. i dont think he will become mayor

I would not do that. I am not sure if he will be mayor.

I think he can do whatever he wants with his name. I personally would not take him serious enough to vote for him if he did.

This is an awesome thing to do for the people, because if some drunk person went to vote and they saw the name Darth Vader i'm pretty sure they'd vote for him right away. I think he will get more votes due to his name being changed, I doubt he will win

It's pretty comical that he would change his name. But I'm not sure if people would still vote for him, just because of a name change. People still might actually care who governs them.

Its funny that he changed his name but i dont know if it will get him more votes... I would vote for him tho! I dont think i would change my name for publicity.

I don't think I would go so far as to change my name. I doubt he will become mayor but it would be cool to say darth vader is your mayor.

Changing his name to that is a good way to protest and could raise some eyes and maybe gain a little bit of popularity.

If I was that desperate for votes, I would probably change my name to something like that. But I'm not. I also agree with you that if he want's to run for president he should be able to, and I have no idea if he will become mayor.
