Are the QR codes necessary?

Starting on October 11, 2022. Teachers introduced a qr code that you have to scan to go to the restroom, office, other classrooms etc. The qr code you scan brings you to a google form that you have to fill out. The form includes name, current class, place, and teacher. This qr code/form is not yet mandatory, but teachers have been implementing this in their classrooms. Students aren't too happy about this. The reason this qr code is now a thing in classrooms is because students have been taking advantage of going to the restroom, and wandering around or wasting time. The problem about this qr code is that some people don't have phones, bad connection, some phones don't scan qr codes, and it takes about two minutes. The two minutes are just a big waste of time, in two minutes you could be there and back.

My opinion on this whole thing is that this qr code should not be implemented into the classrooms. The two minutes that it takes to fill out this form, you could easily be to the restroom and back in that time. I think that it's just a big waste of time. Students could easily make scenes or be dramatic about it. They could just put random stuff on the form or put someone else's name. The thing that sucks about it, is if you don't fill the form out before you leave the class in between periods and you don't make it back in time, you get marked as tarty.

Do you think this qr code is necessary?

What do you think is the reason we have to scan the qr code?

Do you think the students should have a say in this?

  • No, I don't think that they benefit anything because by the time people fill it out we could be there and back halfway. Sometimes it takes way too long to load and just more time and just causes a distraction standing up there and then most of the time people would go on a dif app and waste even more time. they want to know if were in the bathroom to watch us.

  • I personally don't think that these new qr codes should be necessary for many reasons. For instance, students will spend more time filling out the application on their phones than using the restroom since it takes forever to load. I understand the idea of why they are doing it, but I think it's totally unnecessary to make every student do it when they leave the classroom.

  • I don't think the qr codes are necessary. They take a long time to fill out, especially if you have bad connection. If we didn't have the qr codes we could easily be back in class by the time we get done filling out the form. Filling out these qr codes also takes time out your class when you could be learning.

  • I think the QR codes are very unnecessary, one it doesn't even work for everyone as I'm someone who doesn't have a scanner not even on my camera so I can't scan the code. and two it's not going to stop anyone from "not going where they're going." so I feel that there is no point to this its dumb and won't work.

  • I think the qr codes are unnecessary. They are stupid and a waste of time. If a student is just going to the bathroom they should just be able to ask and if the teacher says yes, then they should get to go. You shouldnt have to waste 2 minutes scanning a QR Code.

  • I think the qr codes are stupid. When they try making us do this kids are gonna act like they do it. I think that the students and their parents should have a say in this because its there personal items that they are scanning these things. Who knows they may be able to track you threw the whole day.

  • I think that the qr code is unnecessary. By the time it takes you to scan the code and film out the form you could have been to the bathroom and back almost.  Some students do not have the acces to internet or are able to scan the code.

  • I think the reason we have to scan the qr code is because people are using class time to use the bathroom. I think that the qr code is not going to benifit anything becasue there are some people that don't have a phone or don't have internet.

  • I think that it is not worth it and that I could use the sign out sheet just as easy. I think that they think too many kids are leaving to vape, but the QR codes are not going to stop them. I think that students should not have to do this and that the sign out sheet is enough.

  • I think that these QR codes are unecessary, because not everyone is abusing the system. The internet can be slow which causes it to take longer to put in the information. When filling it out by the time your done, you couldv'e been back by then.
