The Battle of Masurian Lakes was fought in September of 1914. Masurian Lakes was the second win for the Russian Army in World War One. The German troops attacked on September 7th, 1914. Two days later, Rennenkampf's army was outnumbered by 3 to 1.
The Battle of Jutland is known to be the only major naval battle of WWI. The British Navy lost more men and ships then Jutland did. But, the German Navt lost and was never in a position again to create another navy based war. The British Navy remained a powerful fighting force, unlike the German High Seas Navy.
