Battle of the Somme- The main allied attack on the western front.- Famous for loosing 58,000 british troops on the first day of battle.- Started on July 1st and ended on November 18th.

Battle of Verdun - Was a french garrission town - Attacked on December,1915 -The longest battle of the war - The french lost 550,000 men- The germans lost 434,000 men
