World War 1 Blog

I am doing my assigned blog over the Seige of Kut. The Seige of Kut basically was a big battle of the World War 1. It took place in Mesopotamian Campaign. Or better known as Iraq or which is now I should say Iraq. Turkey, or the Ottoman Empire defeated the British Empire's Indian Force. They made them surrender.

Kut or Kut-Al-Amara is a town who's population was around six thousand five hundred people. The British basically got owned by the Turkish. Then two Britian Forces tried offering the Turkish forces a deal. 2,000,000 pounds and they promised the Britian forces that they would not fight them ever again also in exchange for some soldiers. The offer was denied of course. James Morris, whom was a british historian, described the loss of Kut as "the most abject capitulation in Britain’s military history." Meaning that it was a big disgrace to the country. They also lost the Shatt al-Hayy Canal which was just basically taken from them after winning the war.
