Last Tuesday, Tammy Renee Silas, age 39, went into the home of Maria Gurrolla, age 30. She said that she was an immagration agent. After a little bit Gurrolla was attacked by Silas with a knife. Silas then took her 4 day old son and ran away. Gurrolla said that before Silas left she made a phone call and said something along the lines of " the job is done and the mother is dying." Police are still investingating though. They said that Silas had taken Gurrolla's cell phone with her when she left and that helped then find her. Police found that Silas had followed Gurrolla to a doctors appointment and Walmart, and that they couldn't comment on wether or not she was working alone.
Police arrested Silas on Saturday morning. She had been with her boyfriend at the time. He said that she had told him that it was a cousin's baby, and that the cousin was going to jail so they were going to take care of the baby for her. He said that she had had the baby when he had picked her up from the airport and that she seemed very happy and in a good mood. So now the baby and his three siblings are being taken by the state. They wouldn't comment on why they were, but just said that is was safer this way. A judge is going to review what happened and decide when the kids are free to go home.
I think this is so sad why whould you just take a woman baby. The least you could do was not cut her up. Gurrolla was relesed from the hospital on Thursday where she saw her kids for a little bit. I can kind of understand why they want to keep the kids in state custody for a while though. I think it's because they think that someone else was involved and will try to take them, so I think it's a smart idea for a little bit anyway.
