Back in 2007, a woman who claimed she had been abused in a trailer ended up getting six people sent to prison. The weird thing is, every one of them pleaded guilty. This included a mother and her son, a different mother and her daughter and two men. The reason that they pleaded guilty was because of the evidence. In her previous statement, Megan Williams said that her captors abused her but stabbing her in the leg, cuts, bruises on her face, beaten, sexually assaulted, made her eat bodily waste. Now, she is saying that she made it all up and the reason she's coming out with it now is to "right the wrong." I think it is the right thing to tell the truth, but she really should have never made this up in the first place. There's really no reason for it and she pretty much made these 6 innocent people's lives miserable for nothing. At the trial, the defendants who all plead guilty and were sentenced to up to 40 years in jail. They basically had no other choice because of the evidence; it was their word against hers, and if you plead guilty, usually you get a shorter sentence.Williams said she made up the story because she and her boyfriend had been in a fight the night before, and so all of the allegations before were totally false. The only ones that weren't self inflicted were the bruises which she had recieved from her boyfriend from their fight. I don't get why if she had fight with her boyfriend what good it would do to go ruin other people's lives. If she had a problem with him, she should have talked to him about it, and if she knew the situation would have been abusive, she could have involved the authorities. There is also speculation that she is being forced to say these things. Her lawyer says she is not, but then why didn't the defendants file an appeal or anything before this? Now, Williams may face criminal charges, and if these allegations are false, I say she definately deserves them.
