MONDAY-

Sumerians

- large city states

-city states lead by govenor/emperor

-Gilgamesh - most famous, king

-Government - credited with first government, laws, and punishments

-Downfall was dynasties/neighbors

-Geography -mesopotamia fertile crescent

-tigris and euphrates

-modern day iraq

-fertile soil (good for farming and soil)

-unpredictable flooding 

-climate was hot and humid

-religion - polytheistic

-made clay figures

-education - kings educated priest then priest educated scribes 

-Gender Roles -

Women - Wives, Mothers, Housekeepers, making clothes

Men - Kings, farmers, warriors, building things

Technologically - the wheel, plow, levees, irrigation system

Economy - grew barley, chickpeas, wheat, mustard

Jobs were farmers, fishers, sailors, etc

Also relied heavily on agriculture and irrigation 

Cuneiform & Social Classes 

-first recorded groups in human history to have their own cuneiform 

-type of writing system (phonograms)

-had 4 social class groups
