A man by the name of Heincich Boere was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of three Dutch civilians in the 1944. he told the the court that he did kill the three Dutch civilians. And then he had told the court who the people were the first person was a bicycle shop owner and the next a pharmacist and a member of the resistance as part of a death squad. I knew that if I didn't carry out my orders I would be breaking my oath and would be shot myself. He was 18 when he joined the Waffen SS, shortly after the Germans overran his hometown in 1940. After fighting on the Russian front, he ended up back in the Netherlands as a member of the Silbertanne squad. Heinrich is now 88 years old. he said that he was just following orders and if he didnt follow them he would have been shot for not doing so. the prosecutors said that Heinrich was a willing member of the ss and which he joined after the Netherlands was invaded in 1940. there was some doubt over whether heinrich who uses a whellchair an lives in a nuresing home will actually go to jail. Heinrich's lawer said that he will get an appeal. Members of the death squad had worn civilian clothes, rain coats, and carried out the crimes either early in the morning or late in the evening and the risk to Boere when he shot the three men had been zero.
