allowed to many discoveries. to get to know wach others customs.

AFfrican americans got all there own churces schools.
Racism became deeply imbedded in america.
america got out back together after bieng destoyed from war.
California gold rush:
300,000 people looking for riches
Nickname for them were the "49rs"

Important step in america rising in power
not really used for 3 decades.
gold and oil was found in alaska after the 3 decades.
Underground Railroad:
100,000 slaves made it to feedom thru this method
network of seceret safe house and routes.
harriet tubman made 13 trips to the south and saved over 70 people.
The Alamo:
13 days long
Hudred texans VS. Mexicans.
all the texans died. 600 mexicans died.
