Wednesday - Test Day 1

Thursday - Test Day 2 

Friday - New Chapter 

Why did people move west? They moved west for food, mining, gold and silver, hunting, farming, ranching

Manifest Destiny - God given right to move west 

Cattle Ranching - Needed food and they were a high demand 

Sheep herding - Clothing, wool 

Reapers - made it easy to harvest along with the plow, windmill, barbed wire 

Homestead Act - Special acts of Congress that made lands in the West available to all settlers 

Gold and Silver mining - California, Nevada, South Dakota, Alaska

Railroads were for transportation. The majority of the people were Chinese. They came to California.
