week of sept. 5-9

Tuesday- Native Americans coming and going, Columbus and Exploration, Jamestown, Colonization, Revolutionary War, US Constitution Westward Expansion, Texas War for Ind. Civil war, Reconstruction  

Wednesday- Revolutionary War French settled in central U.S and part of Canada 1619 was Jamestown mid 1700's Boston Tea Party colonist dressed up as Indians and threw tea off the boat Gorilla warfare- hid and the shoot when the others aren't expecting it U.S Constitution- Protects Freedom and rights establish our government 

Thursday- groups of people that get to vote now black males, females, 21-18, Washington D.C, moving westward for gold and land, A lot of the land added in 1840  Alamo March 6th 1836 San Antonio Dec 10 1835 Taking land meant going west we pay 20 million for mexico land 

Friday- mid 1840's we defeated mexico and took a lot of land. Keep balanced slave state, free state, slave state, free state. California progressed very fast because of the gold Reconstruction- period of time after the Civil  War in which the south had to rebuilt and reorganized and brought back to the union President Lincoln and Johnson wanted to be easy on the south. Southern governments taken over by carpetbaggers and scalawags these governments set up school raised taxes and built rail roads, Reconstruction left very deep divisions between the northern states
