-What problems did farmers face on the Great Plains?
The farmers were losing even more money with the bank foreclosing in mortgages and railroads.
They were having economics problems that affected the entire nation. Farmers were over loaded with debts and loans.
-Who were the Populists and what did they believe in? “People's Party” The populists helped with votes.

-What caused the Industrial revolution to really take off in the late 1800's?
The immense industrial boom was due to several factors, including a wealth of natural resources(oil), government support for business, and a growing urban population that provide both cheap labor and markets for new products.
-What were some new inventions in the late 1800's and what affect did they have on people's lives?
In 1859 Edwin L Drake successfully uses a steam engine to drill for oil.
In 1876 Thomas Edison made electricity system/lightbulb.
People could see what they were doing at night.

Type-writer helped so they did not have to bring the messages by foot.
The telephone helped with communication.

-What impact did railroads have on the US?
Better/faster transportation. Brought forth giant corporations. Provided jobs. Kicked off Native Americans. They depended on standard time.
-Why were many people upset with the railroads?
Lots of hard work to build the railroads. Wiped out towns and villages. Over-charged farmers.
-What did the Grangers or government do to regulate the railroads?
Labor union of farmers. Group of people (mostly farmers) trying to get laws so the railroads couldn't charge. Several laws were passed.
