Monday - Types of cars: Bradley Gasoline Runabout, Ford Model A, Motorcycle, Bus, Airplane 

Problem: Lack of Safe Drinking Water

Solution: Diseases were spread through unsafe drinking water, Chlorine was added to the water to eliminate disease, Federal regulation of drinking water quality began in 1914 to strengthen it 

Problem: Disease was Common and Streets were Filthy 

Solution: Horses were replaced which eliminated the manure, Added chlorine to water, Indoor plumbing, George A. Waring organized modern recycling, street sweeping and garbage collection.

Problem: Crime 

Solution: Organized Police Force, Fingerprints

Problem: Fires 

Solution: Building codes, Firefighters, In 1853, Cincinnati became the first full-time, paid fire fighter in the US 

Problem:  Poverty 

Solution: Labor Union, Minimum wage laws, Shorter hours, Child labor laws

"Lecturing" was one of the most common teaching methods for teachers
