- Militarism- The belief or desire of a government or people that a country should maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend
- Nationalism- Loyalty to your country (Feel patriotic to your country)
- Sphere of influence- A country or area in which another country has the power to affect the developments although it has no formal authority
- Protectorate- A country is controlled or protected by another (more powerful) country
- Arbitration- The use of an arbitrator to settle a dispute
